SOFTBALL PROGRAMS
Minors Softball (Ages 5-8)
“A” Softball / T-Ball - Ages 5-6
“A”/T-ball softball is the first level of our softball program. “A”/T-ball is geared toward teaching sound softball fundamentals such as proper throwing, fielding and batting techniques. Girls typically play at this level for two years. The “A”/T-ball program starts kids on a tee and introduces them to coach-pitched balls when they’re ready. Kids play in all of the defensive innings, rotating positions each inning, and will bat in all innings of a game. “A”/T-ball uses a 10” safety (squishy) ball.
-
AGE: Your child should be 5 years old by December 31, 2021 to participate. Most girls who play “A”/T-Ball softball are Kindergarteners and 1st graders, with a few older preschool kids.

“AA” Softball - Ages 7-8
“AA” softball is the second level of our softball program. “AA” softball focuses on good softball fundamentals. An adult pitcher will pitch from a distance of approx. 35 feet using a 11″ optic yellow safety ball. There are strikes and strikeouts, and outs are recorded (three outs will retire the side). Kids will play infield and outfield positions on a rotation the coach establishes. Girls may not bat every inning if three outs are achieved or their team has scored 5 runs.

Majors Fastpitch (Ages 9-14)
“AAA” Softball - Ages 9-10
“AAA” softball is the first level of our competitive fastpitch softball programs. Players will expand on the skills taught at “AA”. This is the first year of “kid-pitch”. To keep the games moving we use a modified kid-pitch approach. Kids pitch until the batter gets a hit, strikes out or the pitcher pitches four balls. After four balls, a coach will pitch the rest of the at bat. Pitch distance is 35 feet. An 11″ yellow optic safety ball is used, unless Interlock rules require a standard 11″ optic yellow softball. On defense, players will still experience the infield and outfield, but coaches may start focusing girls on certain areas of the field; for example, middle infield.
In order to create a competitive and balanced roster among teams, buddy requests may be submitted but will not always honored.
